Our Vision

Goals

1.     To bring awareness to racial biases in Gettysburg

a.     Encorage and voices of privilege how to speak out on racial biases.

b.     To ensure appropriate representation of POC in our local community, schools, media, etc. by coming together to create change. #VoicesofGettysburg

2.     To amplify Black voices in Gettysburg

a.     Create safe places where POC can express their frustration with racism and systemic racism in Gettysburg. Then help find solutions. #ChangingGettysburg

b.     Announcing call to actions using #WhiteVoices4BlackLives to draw attention to the needs of the community.

3.     To dismantle systemic racism in Gettysburg

a.     Create a safe place for POC to rebuild the hope and strength with the community.

b.     Hold people in power accountable for their actions.

c.      Insist on diversity in hiring of teachers, police officers, politicians etc.

d.     Require hands on diversity simulation training (not just a video or pamphlet) for teachers, police officers, politicians, etc.
